IT in City Government

Our May program is by an IT professional who has over 40 years of IT experience. Our speaker is Fred Banner who is the MIT Director for the City of Franklin. Fred will discuss the differences and challenges of the IT environment in city government. Fred has been with the City of Franklin since 2002 and set up the IT systems from scratch.

Fred will also give us his views on the future challenges in IT. Fred came to the Nashville area after 17 years in Roanoke, VA. In Nashville, he started with the Windy Hill Pet Food organization which was acquired by Doane Pet Care. Fred moved to Mid-State Automotive which was acquired by O’Reilly’s. He then was a consultant converting Baldwin Piano to Gibson Music. Fred will give us tips on how to handle your IT management position when you suspect your company is about to be acquired by another company.
